Conference Opener over SAGU

WAXAHACHIE -- The UTB/TSC women's volleyball team kept its impressive
streak alive with a 3-0 shutout of Southwest Assemblies of God
University here Friday, September 7, 30-20, 30-20, 30-21.
The win in the Red River Athletic Conference opener for both teams lifted the Scorpions to a 7-3 overall and 1-0 in RRAC play. SAGU dropped to 6-2 and 0-1.
It was the second straight victory for the Scorpions, who have won six of their last seven matches. UTB/TSC is ranked first in the NAIA Region VI poll, and ranked in a tie for 29th place in the first NAIA national poll.
On Saturday, the Scorpions have two other important matches against Region VI opponent -- at 9 a.m. against Southern Nazarene University in Waxahachie and at 4 p.m. against Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.
Talita Milasauskas had a triple-double with 22 kills, 14 digs, 10 blocks four aces. Katie Japp had nine kills, 28 digs, four blocks and three aces. Daianarah Bracero added 46 assists,
The Scorpions have already defeated TWU this season, a 3-0 win at the South Padre Island Tournament.
Scorpion middle blocker Talita Milasauskas leads the RRAC in blocks with a 1.4 average and is tied for the conference lead in kills with a 4.0 average. Setter Daianarah Bracero leads the conference in assists with a 11.3 average.
