KINGSVILLE –
The UTB/TSC Scorpions used a power game to defeat Texas A&M
University-Kingsville, 30-25, 27-30, 30-27, 30-25, in a women’s
volleyball match at the Steinke Center Tuesday, August 29.
The win improves the Scorpions’ record to 3-2 while TAMUK dropped to 3-2.
Talita Milasauskas led the way for the Scorpions with 20 kills, while Claudia Alarcon added 11.
We played well, we just overpowered them,” Scorpion head coach Marcus Young said. They were a quick team and ran a quick offense. But we got play our game, and as long as we we’re doing that, we’re hard to beat.”
Alarcon had 18 digs, while Milasauskas and Katie Japp had 14, and each of the three contributed two blocks. Daianarah Bracero had 45 assists.
The Scorpions now head to San Angelo to compete in the Angelo State University Tournament Friday and Saturday, August 31-September 1. UTB/TSC opens tournament play against New Mexico Highlands University at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
