Scorpions Win 2 Matches Against Regional Opponents at SPI Tourney

The UTB/TSC Scorpions came back to win their final two matches of the Bahia Mar Resort-South Padre Island Invitational Volleyball Tournament Saturday, August 25 at the SPI Convention Centre.

UTB/TSC knocked off Texas Wesleyan University, 3-0 (30-25, 36-34, 30-17) and then outlasted Lubbock Christian College, 3-1 (30-25, 30-27, 25-30, 30-26) to improve their season record to 2-2.

Hastings University, the ninth-ranked team in the NAIA, was the only team in the tournament to win all four of its matches. Savannah College of Art & Design, ranked 10th, went 3-1.

The Scorpions' 2-2 record was third best, while LCC, TWU and Bellevue University all finished 1-3.
