Posted September 25, 2007
For the fourth straight week, a UTB/TSC Scorpion has been selected as the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Mayra Solis, a freshman forward from La Joya, was selected for the award for the period September 17-23.

During the four weeks of the award during the 2007 season, the Scorpions have brought home the honor. Lena Candia, the leading scorer in the conference, won the award three straight weeks before Solis.

Solis scored six goals last week, two in each of the Scorpions' three games. She scored the first goal in the Scorpions' first-ever home game, a 4-0 victory over Huston-Tillotson University. She also scored twice in a 3-2 loss to Texas Lutheran University and again scored twice in an 8-0 victory over College of the Southwest.
