The UTB/TSC women's soccer team faces the
only other unbeaten Red River Athletic Conference teams on the road this weekend
in the Dallas-Forth Area.
UTB/TSC sits atop the RRAC standings with a 3-0 conference record to go along with a league best season record of 7-3. They will face Northwood University (3-4-1, 1-0) at 1 p.m. Friday September 28, in Cedar Hill and then take on Texas Wesleyan University (4-4-2, 1-0) at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, September 29, in Fort Worth.
The two games are expected to be the toughest pair of games the Scorpions will have in RRAC play.
"These are two very big games for us," Scorpion head coach Nik Barjaktarevic said. "We've done very well so far and want to keep up the momentum and come out of this with two more wins."
The Scorpions have won four of their last five games, and registered three shutouts in their last three victories over York College, Huston-Tillotson University, and College of the Southwest by scores of 5-0, 4-0 and 8-0. Mayra Solis has scored two goals in each of the last three games.
UTB/TSC will be facing a Texas Wesleyan team that won the RRAC tournament championship last year.
Lena Candia leads the team and the RRAC in goals with a 1.30 average, and is ranked No. 14 in the nation in goals scored. Vanessa Gallegos leads in assists with six and Jacqui Ruiz leads in saves with six.
