Drop 3-2 Decision to Rogers State

MUSKOGEE,
Okla. -- Rogers State University scored a goal with six minutes remaining to
defeat the UTB/TSC women's soccer team,
3-2, here Saturday, September 8, in
the Bacone College Classic.
The Scorpions are now 3-2 for the season while Rogers State improved to 2-0.
"This was a tough game, we played hard, and made a couple of mistakes, and it hurt us," Scorpion head coach Nik Barjaktarevic said. "Our inexperience still shows up at times, but we’re getting better every game."
UTB/TSC finished a 2-2 week, but won the most important game of the week, a 1-0 decision over Bacone College Friday in a Red River Athletic Conference Game.
On Saturday, Rogers State led at halftime, 1-0, on a goal in the 17th minute.
The Scorpions tied the game at 1-1 on a goal by Mayra Solis in the 49th minute, assisted by Brittany Moseley.
Rogers State took a 2-1 lead on a goal in the 67th minute before the Scorpions tied it again at 2-2 on an equalizer by Aleisha Cassie in the 69th minute, assisted by Olyvia Gaytan.
Rogers State scored in 84th minute on a breakaway shot from 30 yards over Scorpion goalkeeper Jessica Hamer's head.
The Scorpions had 18 shots on goal compared to 10 for Rogers State. Hamer played all 90 minutes at goalkeeper, and had six saves.
The Scorpions will compete in the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Classic held at Northwood University in Cedar Hill on September 14-15. The Scorpions' opponents will be McPherson University (Kan.) and York College (Neb.).
