Men's Soccer Scorpions Visit OLLU, HTU

 SAN ANTONIO -- The UTB/TSC men’s soccer team goes on the road this weekend to play Our Lady of our Lake University (4-2-1) at 4 p.m. Friday, September 14.

The Scorpions (2-1-1) will then travel to Austin to play Huston-Tillotson University (4-1-1) at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 15.

 

“We want to continue where we left off,” Scorpion head coach Dan Balaguero said. “We are riding our two-game win streak and hope to come out with two more victories.”

 

The Scorpions made history on their last road trip by capturing their first win of the season and first Red River Athletic Conference victory. The conference win came in commanding fashion, as the Scorpions defeated Bacone College 6-0 on September 7. The Scorpions made it two straight wins the next day with a 3-1 victory over Rogers State University.

 

Category leaders for the Scorpions include Fernando Mendoza in goals with a 1.0 average, Antonio Vernaschi in assists with a 0.75 average, Enrique Rivera in shots with a 1.75 average, and Bojan Maric in saves with a 6.50 average. 

 

History will be made at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 20 at Morningside Park, when the Scorpions host their first  home game against Huston-Tillotson University. The second game of the Scorpion homestand will be against College of the Southwest at 7 p.m. Saturday, September 22.
