Closing the academic year with conference championships in baseball and softball, Northwood University clinched the 2007-08 Red River Athletic Conference All-Sports Award.

In only its second year as a conference member, UTB/TSC reached third with conference titles in men’s soccer and volleyball. The Scorpion women's soccer team finished third in the regular season standings, but won the tournament championship.

Northwood’s 13-12 victory over Texas Wesleyan University in the baseball championship held at Scorpion Field May 2 provided the margin between the two schools in the final All-Sports point totals.

The RRAC All-Sports Award is given annually to the RRAC member institution that performs best across the conference’s sponsored sports in an academic year. Points were awarded to the top five teams in each sport and point totals for each school are determined as an average across the number of sports in which each institution participates.

TWU finished as the All-Sports runner-up for the third consecutive year with championships in men’s basketball and men’s golf. Like Northwood, the Rams scored points in all eight sports in which they compete with additional runner-up results in men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball.

Any RRAC-sanctioned sport with four or more teams and an official conference championship qualifies for the All-Sports totals. Sports with official conference champions include women’s cross country, men's and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's outdoor track and field, men’s golf, baseball and softball.
