Men Golfers in 3rd Place at UMHB Tourney

TEMPLE -- The UTB/TSC men's golf team is in third place after the first day of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor University Spring Invitational Monday, February 26.

McMurry University leads the 16-team field with a 294, followed by host UMHB at 303 and the Scorpions at 309 at Wildflower Country Club.

Jones Mitchell led the Scorpion efforts with a 36-39=75, good for a sixth place tie, five shots behind Rode McElreath of McMurry, who shot a 70.

Other Scorpion scores were Anthony Lopez 37-40=77, Chris Milligan 39-39=78, Agapito Ortega 43-36=79, and Jerry Borgogni 42-41=83.

The tournament concludes with the final 18 holes Tuesday, February 27.
