Sophomore Julian Moya puts the clamps on the Viterbo bats for seven innings as the UTB/TSC Scorpions coasted to a 9-2 win over Viterbo University (Wis.) Friday, March 7, at Scorpion Field.

Moya pitched seven innings of scoreless baseball, allowing only four hits. He struck out five and walked four to improve his record to 2-4. It was his best outing of the season.

The Scorpions, now 4-19, wrap up a nine-game stretch of games within seven days when they host Viterbo in a doubleheader starting at 12 noon Saturday, March 8, at Scorpion Field.

Evan Hardman pitched a scoreless eighth inning and Kellen Burman allowed two runs in the ninth as the V-Hawks spoiled the Scorpions' bid for their first shutout of the season.

The Scorpions erupted for 14 hits and scored three runs three times in the second, fourth and seventh innings. They left the bases loaded in the seventh inning when they came close to ending the game by the 10-run rule.

Four Scorpions -- Jorge Camorlinga, Andres Monterrubio, Jacob Yousif, and Tyler O'Neal had two hits each.

After Saturday's doubleheader, the Scorpions are home for a stretch of eight more games within a six-day period from March 12-18.
